SPENT SPINNER TURKEY BIOT

A nice general spinner pattern that can be varied in most sizes to match any spinner fall, really. The little foam piece at the thorax ensures high visibility when the light fades.

General

There’s nothing to this one really, but must be in my collection. I fish this pattern a lot, and it is in many ways my go-to pattern. Either with or without the foam topping on the thorax.

I think that the turkey biot gives a nice segmentation to the body, although when it comes to floating capabilities it is not my first choice. This pattern can of course be varied in several ways, for instance with straight poly dubbing on the abdomen.

I like to use Coq de Leon fibers in the tail. They are durable and soft – enough to carry the fly above the film.

Fishing Tips

Apply floatant and let it float freely without any movement – dead drift. Use a long well tapered leader.
